U-Haul lesbian

Criticisms
A common criticism of the “U-Haul” joke is the negative impression that it gives of lesbians’ coupling on literally the second date, when for the majority of relationships, that step normally happens several months or years after meeting, if ever.

Emma Bovary, Madame Bovary, Gustave Flaubert
She was pale all over, white as a sheet; the skin of her nose was drawn at the nostrils, her eyes looked at you vaguely. After discovering three grey hairs on her temples, she talked much of her old age…Her eyelids seemed chiseled expressly for her long amorous looks in which the pupil disappeared, while a strong inspiration expanded her delicate nostrils and raised the fleshy corner of her lips, shaded in the light by a little black down.

“We used all the available tools in order to communicate with each other, collaborate and agree on a date, a time and a location for the start of the revolution. Yet, starting Jan. 28, the revolution was on the streets. It was not on Facebook, it was not on Twitter. Those were tools to relay information, to tell people the truth about what’s happening on the ground.”
— Internet activist Wael Ghonim says sites like Facebook are tools that can help connect people and disseminate information to the masses, but cannot create social changes on their own. (via nprfreshair)

“Slut” is how we vilify a woman for exercising her right to say “yes”. “Friendzone” is how we vilify a woman for exercising her right to say “no”.”

(o.g above quote from angels-and-angles)
Not trying to knock the overriding thing about slutshaming +/ feminism (because they make a great point) but I have an issue with the terminology: Why is 3rd-wave feminism being applied to the pitfalls of 5th grade relationship lingo? It’s like trying to fight a mosquito with a flamethrower. Also: who says “friendzone” outside of CBS sitcoms and grade school?
